Stronger Together

Take the first step and join our worldwide community where the philosophies of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. are put into action to help solve some of the most challenging problems of our time — a community that works to demonstrate the power of diversity, the strength of collaboration, and the edification of sacrifice.

We ask that you start with a personal pledge. A pledge to live meaningfully. A pledge to live authentically and help others do the same. A pledge to stand up to injustice anywhere and not be silent when the rights of others are threatened. A pledge to live with a “dangerous unselfishness” toward others. A pledge to make redemptive love an integral part of daily life and decision making.

Whether you are an individual seeking to make your voice heard, an educator striving to teach the value of all differences, a community organizer looking to take the next step in outreach, or a company representative trying to take that first step of faith toward inclusivity and diversity — you are welcome here and we encourage you to join us.

Expanding on the Liberation Curriculum by The Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute at Stanford University, we are committed to sharing this knowledge with the world — knowledge that has the power to inspire every human being to pursue the Dream of living peacefully and productively in what Dr. King called our great ‘world house.’ We are committed to the belief that it is our moral and social obligation to stand up for the rights of every human being — and we will not rest until these obligations, this Dream, is realized.
OPEN HEARTS is a grassroots movement to encourage, publish, and promote expressions contributing to a greater understanding among diverse groups and a more socially-just world.  These expressions take many forms, including written stories, video, audio, poetry, and art that shares the human experience and inspires future generations to boldly live their lives authentically and fearlessly.
OPEN WORLDS is an open-source network of communities, schools, and companies committed to showing the power of diversity, the strength of collaboration, and the edification of sacrifice in solving the most challenging, debilitating problems in our world. OPEN WORLDS includes our OPEN-X network of practical, hands-on Problem Based Learning (PBL) projects for K-12 schools and institutions of higher learning. Implemented locally and connected globally, the goal of the OPEN-X network is to provide every child the opportunity to share their talents, lead meaningful lives, and be part of creating a more inclusive, peaceful, and loving ‘world house.’

Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step. — Martin Luther King, Jr.
